Announcement
It has come to our attention that Dorothy “Pinky” Han has asked to resign as the club’s President.
We would like to thank Pinky for her endless commitment to the club since its inception. She was an instrumental part of the club’s creation back in 2012, and since has created a club in which all members are proud to belong to. Pinky not only created and invented, she attended many meetings near and far, wrote many letters to support the kids in their various endeavors outside of skating, kept members informed and educated; all for the love of the young figure skaters excited to take part in the sport of figure skating.
It is with honor that we recognize Pinky’s enduring dedication to the Finer Edge Figure Skating Club over the past 5 years. It is also with great sadness that we say good-bye.
Sincerely,
The Board Members of the Finer Edge Figure Skating Club

Dear Parents,
Each month we will send information about skating and skaters to try and help with your child's development as a top athlete.
This month we will talk about private lessons and lesson time.
Private lessons are an essential part of the development of a skater. Each skater develops at a different speed and learns with their own understanding patterns. Some learn initially by watching, some by doing and others by hearing an explanation. We all learn differently.
Private lessons allow each individual to learn as is best and most efficient for them. Once a skater has reached a certain level of proficiency, it is far more cost effective to have private instruction.
How many lessons per week? This is a question for your coach, they will know best.
RULES TO FOLLOW. The 4 B's
1. Be On time! Be prepared, time is money! Don't waste your time or your coaches by being late or un prepared. There is limited ice time each day so plan ahead.
2. Be ready! Arrive with time to do a warm up. It is important that you are ready to work when you hit the ice for your lesson. Your coach will help you with the right kind and amount of warm up needed for your level. Not being warmed up properly will lead to injury.
3. Be respectful! Allow your coach to coach. Do not interrupt your child's or any other students lesson. Everyone's time with their coach is important and costs money. Do not be disrespectful of your child, other skaters or your coach. If you need to talk to your coach, try email, text, wait until after they are off the ice and are available for a quick word. If it is urgent, talk during the time you have paid for not during others time.
Be courteous and respectful. Remember to ask yourself if it is urgent prior to interrupting.
4. Be Consistent! If you can not make a lesson, (this happens from time to time with illness) give your coach enough time to be able to schedule another skater for that time. Be mindful that this is how your coach makes a living. If they do not work they do not get paid. Frequent missed lessons is very costly to your skater and the coach. Plan appointments around scheduled lessons. Consistency is incredibly important to the success of any athlete.
So, Be on time
Be ready
Be respectful
Be consistent
Keep these 4 B's in mind and your child will have the best chance for success!
If you have questions please feel free to ask, we are here for you!
