Latest news - It is this time of the year when we have to renew the USFS membership. Please go to Forms to download the new form. - Our Club is postponing its scheduled March 22-nd test session, as well as the start of the new session of the Bridge Program. We will announce the new dates as soon as possible. - Please, visit the 'Bridge Program' page for more details on the Bridge program. - Big kudos to Emmy Blanchette who won a gold medal at Intermediate level, at the Empire State WInter Games in Lake Placid, NY, January 31 to February 2, 2020! - Congratulations to Talia Gallagher who finished the Collegiate season with a bronze medal at the MIT Collegiate competition in Boston on February, 2-nd! We are proud of Talia who is a hard working student at UCONN and a beautiful skater, at the same time! Previously during the Collegiate season she also competed at the Cornell Challenge Cup in New York, and The Violet Ice Classic in New York. - Finer Edge is organizing a test session on March 22 from 12:00 to 3:00 pm at the Veterans Memorial Ice Rink at 56, Buena Vista Road, West Hartford. All single test levels will be available. Application deadline is March 12. Please, go to the 'Forms' page/tab to download the new application form. - Congratulations to our club skater Talia Gallagher who is a member of the UCONN Collegiate team and recently won individually a pewter medal in the pattern dance and a bronze medal with the team at The Violet Ice Classic in New York City! - Starting in January 2020, Finer Edge is offering a new Bridge 101 program. Please go to the 'Bridge Program' page/tab to find all the information you need. The 3 forms needed to enroll can also be downloaded through the 'Forms' page/tab. - Congratulations to Anqi Hou, Lauren Jeong and Katie Turcotte who represented Finer Edge at the 2020 Eastern Sectionals, 11/2-11/16 in Hyannis, MA! In a highly competitive field with the best figure skaters from all Eastern regions, they finished in 12-th, 11-th and 15-th place in the Juvenile, Intermediate and Novice events, respectively. Full results can be found here. Thank you, girls! - Katie Turcotte qualified for the 2020 Sectional Championships through the NQS system! Congratulations and good luck! - Congratulations to Ava Lam and Annie Zhao, who won silver medals at the Cape Cod Harvest Classic competition - Excel Beginner and Basic 6 levels. - During the last day of the 2020 New England Regional Single Challenge competition Katie Turcotte finished in 8-th place in the Novice Championships. Good job! The followed skaters received Special Achievement Awards at Regionals: Anqi Hou - 4 pins, Lauren Jeong - 3 pins, Katie Turcotte - 1 pin, Mia Vientos - 1 pin! Congratulations, girls! - Great new from the third day at Regionals: Anqi Hou is the 2020 New England Regional Singles Challenge Juvenile vice-champion and silver medalist. She qualified for Sectionals!Lauren Jeong won the intermediate free skating and finished in fifth place overall. She qualified for the 2020 Sectional Championships. Mia Vientos finished in 5-th place and Mariapia is 23-rd. Congratulations to all our skaters! - During the second day at Sectionals our Juvenile skater Anqi Hou won a silver medal in QR, Group A and qualified for the Championships round! Katie Turcotte finished in 3-rd place at the Novice QR, Group A and qualified for the Championships. Carol Sugrue finished in 10-th place with a personal best score. Lauren, Mia and Mariapia skated their short programs at the Intermediate Championships. - Great news from the first day of the 2020 New England Regional competition! Lauren Jeong, Mia Vientos and Mariapia Asca qualified for the final round! Good luck! Emma, Jenny and Mason skated their best and placed right below those who qualified.
